Bone China mug, notebooks and gilded bronze necklace inspired by the motifs on the frieze of the Lesser Propylae, monumental gateway associated with the sacred mysteries of Eleusis that is recreated in the temporary exhibition “Eleusis. The great mysteries”: the ‘sacred kiste’ (chest) in which the secret sacred objects of Eleusian worship were placed, the wheat sheaf, symbol of the Eleusian cult goddess Demetra, the bucrania (skull of an ox) with ribbons that signifies its destiny for sacrifice and the low relief rosette, popular as a decorative element in antiquity.
