Fabrics in the artistic material

A journey in ancient dress through the fabrics that clothe the figures portrayed in the art of the Museum’s galleries. The materials, production and decoration of the clothing, and the way these have been depicted in the artistic material will be the topics of discussion presented by the Museum’s Archaeologist-Hosts. The presentation will be enriched with coloured cast copies of exhibits, marble segments painted experimentally with ancient pigments and an installation showing experimental weaving techniques, among other things.
