MIRfestival 2012 at the Acropolis Museum

From 7 December to 13 December 2012, ‘Symphony of a missing room – Athens’ by Swedish artists Christer Lundahl & Martina Seitl will be hosted by the Acropolis Museum, as part of MIRfestival 2012.

MIRfestival is an international contemporary art festival, on the experiment at the crossroads of performing arts and visual new media. Lundahl & Seitl’s artistic language, mixing visual art, sound art and performance, consists a universe on its own. No wonder they are already part of the most prestigious festivals and cultural events in Europe with their impossible-to-label artworks.

The performance ‘Symphony of a missing room’ takes place in museums, and its content is always re-designed to adapt to site specificity, to the particular museum and the city it surrounds it. A guided visit in the Acropolis Museum turns into an incredible adventure in the ‘missing room’, only existing in the visitor’s imagination.

From Friday 7 December to Thursday 13 December 2012, except on Monday 10 December 2012 (Museum closed), 5 performances will be held each day. Entry to the performances will be free. A telephone booking is absolutely necessary due to the restricted number of participants (Reservations responsible: Leonie Gavrias, Tel. 6932 055101, Email: [email protected]).

Participants are asked to arrive at the Museum foyer at least 10 minutes prior to the programmed performance time, as there will be a preparation procedure.
