Health protection measures


For security reasons, the Museum will operate with a controlled number of visitors, observing all health protection measures.

According to Government regulations (Government Gazette Β' 5816/11-12-2021), for your entrance to the Museum you will need to present one of the following documents and a photo ID (identification card or passport):

• Vaccination certificate valid at least 14 days

• Medical certificate of a COVID19 infection valid up to 3 months

For adults who are over 60 years old and a period of at least seven (7) months has elapsed from the administration of the second dose or, in the case of single-dose vaccines, from the administration of the single dose, fully vaccinated are considered those who have received the booster dose.

Children from 4 to 17 years old must provide a parental/legal guardian declaration that the child has undertaken a self-test taken no longer than 24 hours. Self-test declaration

During your visit, please make sure to keep in mind the following:


  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all visitors from 4 years old.
  • Contactless temperature screening is undertaken at the Museum’s entrance.
  • Τhe required distance of 1,5 meters from others must be maintained at all times.
  • Regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer are required: hand sanitizer dispensers are available throughout the Museum.
  • The use of credit cards is encouraged in all financial transactions in the Museum.

Group visits - guided tours


  • Bookings for groups (10 - 30 persons) are made either by telephone at 210 9000903, Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, or online at [email protected]
  • Guided tours of groups of 5 persons or more must be conducted with the use of the Whisper System. Please note that the Museum does not provide this equipment.

School visits


  • Maximum participation in independent school visits is limited to 25 visitors per school group (students and teachers).
  • Maximum participation in Museum’s educational programs is limited to 25 visitors per school group (students and teachers) and 2 school groups per program.
  • The Museum’s educational programmes must be conducted with the use of individual hearing devices (whisper) which are provided by the Museum free of charge.
  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all students.

The following Museum services/facilities will not be provided to visitors for health protection reasons until further notice:


  • Audio guide for adults and families
  • Family backpacks on loan
  • Baby strollers on loan
  • Short Guide to the Museum written in Braille
  • Reading Lounge on the second floor
  • Multimedia center on the second floor
  • Kids corner on the second floor
