Health protection measures at the Acropolis Museum


Visitors can acquire their admission tickets either from the Museum’s Ticket Desk or through e-ticketing.

For security reasons, the Museum will operate with a controlled number of visitors, observing all health protection measures.

During your visit, please make sure to keep in mind the following:

 

  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all visitors.
     
  • Contactless temperature screening is undertaken at the Museum’s entrance.
     
  • Τhe required distance of 2 meters from others must be maintained at all times.
     
  • Regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer are required: hand sanitizer dispensers are available throughout the Museum.
     
  • The use of credit cards is encouraged in all financial transactions in the Museum.

Group visits - guided tours

 

  • Bookings for groups (5 - 20 persons) are made either by telephone at 210 9000903, Monday through Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, or online at [email protected]
     
  • Guided tours of groups of 5 persons or more must be conducted with the use of the Whisper System. Please note that the Museum does not provide this equipment.
     
  • According to Government regulations, (Government Gazette 2879/2-7-2021) groups can visit the Museum as follows:

1. Up to 10 persons, with the regulations in force until today (use of protective masks, required distance of 2 meters, contactless temperature screening).

2. Between 11 to 20 persons, in accord with the regulations set out in the Government Gazette, and more specifically:

Τhe tour guide must hold a vaccination certificate or a medical certificate confirming that the holder was tested positive with SARS-CoV-2 virus infection issued thirty (30) days after the day of the first positive test and valid up to one hundred and eighty (180) days after its issue.

Persons in the group following the tour guide must present one of the following documents at the Museum entrance:

- a vaccination certificate
- a negative PCR certificate from a testing laboratory, for a Covid-19 test taken no later than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled time of the tour
- a negative antigen (rapid) certificate taken no longer than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled time of the tour
- a medical certificate confirming that the holder was tested positive with SARS-CoV-2 virus infection issued thirty (30) days after the day of the first positive test and valid up to one hundred and eighty (180) days after its issue

The above requirements apply also to minors aged twelve (12) years and over.

The following Museum services/facilities will not be provided to visitors for health protection reasons until further notice:

 

  • Educational programs and family programs
     
  • Audio guide for adults and families
     
  • Baby strollers on loan
     
  • Parent’s Room on the first floor
     
  • Reading Lounge on the second floor
     
  • Multimedia center on the second floor
     
  • Kids corner on the second floor
