Galloping in formation, the horse riders dominate the north and south sides of the frieze of the Parthenon. On the west side however, the picture is different: in a rocky landscape the riders subdue their horses by drawing on their reins, and alternatively reward the horses by relaxing their hold on them. The bridles and reins, originally bronze attachments as were weapons, whips and rods, no longer exist. In this video, they are digitally reconstructed and in some cases, an initial attempt at presenting colors of the frieze is also made.
