On the occasion of the August Full Moon, on Friday, 28 August 2026, the Acropolis Museum will extend its opening hours and remain open continuously from 9 a.m. until midnight, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the Museum’s galleries and enjoy views of the Acropolis Rock under the moonlight of the Attic night sky. Admission to the Museum will be with a standard general admission ticket, while the Museum’s Ticket Desk and Shops will close at 11:30 p.m.
In addition to the Museum’s permanent collections, visitors will be able to explore, with free admission, the temporary exhibition Inspirations. Ancient Greek Art living in Italy, on view at the Museum until 30 August. Featuring 38 unique ceramic, bronze, and marble masterpieces, displayed outside Italy for the first time, the exhibition focuses on the influence, reception, and transmission of ancient Greek art in Italy, from the Iron Age to the 20th century. On Friday, 28 August 2026, at 6 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the temporary exhibition led by a Museum archaeologist. Like every Friday, the restaurant on the second floor will remain open until midnight. Visitors wishing to dine at the second-floor restaurant are required to make a reservation by telephone at +30 210 9000915.
Finally, on Friday, 28 August, the Excavation Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last admission at 7:30 p.m.).
