Digitization of Ancient Archaeological Material

In 2018, in accordance with the "Creation of a Digital Acropolis Museum" project of the Regional Operational Programme (PEP) of Attica 2014-2020, archive material contained in the Museum's collections was digitally scanned. This digitization process specifically concerned excavation diaries, excavation photographs and inventory records of recovered artefacts. As a result, the Museum has acquired a superior-quality repository that ensures long-term preservation and effective management of its cultural inventory. In total, 496 excavation diaries, 110,000 photographs, 18,410 inventory records and 7,500 artefact conservation reports were digitized.
