Female figurine found in 1888 north of the Parthenon. The figure is standing frontally with raised hands. She wears white chiton and red obliquely worn himation. The hair is painted black and falls on the shoulders whereas a painted necklace adorns the neck. The figure has sandals on. Preserved is part of the white slip, as well as pale blue and red colour.
The figurine probably depicts one of the kanephoroi ("basket-bearers") as her separately made arms appear to have been raised in order to hold a ceremonial basket over her head. It has also been suggested that she is a hydriaphoros or Athena Promachos.
