Sunshine, wind, rain and clouds are ever-present or alternate throughout the world of the Acropolis Museum. One Saturday each month, visitors can experience the prevailing weather conditions inside the Museum’s exhibition galleries. They are invited to reflect on the significance of these conditions in human life, both in antiquity and today, as well as on the threats and challenges posed by changes in weather and climate. At the same time, they discover the feelings of the people for the distinctive weather of their homeland.
A journey through weather phenomena and the ways they were perceived and represented in ancient art, architecture and thought. Through selected exhibits at the Acropolis Museum, the experience opens up a dialogue between ancient perspectives and the eyes of contemporary visitors.
