Head of a statue of small stature. It was found in 1866 during work conducted for the foundation of the old Acropolis Museum.
It depicts a beardless youth, most likely an athlete. He has long hair which wraps around a circular band and is gathered at the back forming a loose bun. The white of his eyes is made of a glassy material, while the iris is now lost. It is considered a work of the so-called “Severe Style”.
