The battle between Athens and other Greek cities against the Macedonians due to the expansionism of the Macedonian king Philipp II. The battle took place in Chaironeia, city of Boeotia, in 338 BC. The victory of the Macedonians signified the beginning of their rule and interference in the political affairs of southern Greece.
