Female lyric poet from Tanagra in Boeotia who was active in the beginning and the middle of the 5th cent. BC. She wrote choral poetry (type of lyric poetry) in the local dialect and her subjects are restricted to Boeotian myths. Ancient literary sources attest that Korinna had defeated the great poet Pindar in a musical contest.
