The period that stretches between AD 1204 and 1456 when the Francs, Catalans and Venetians besiege and rule Athens. During this time the Acropolis acquires a new fortification, the Parthenon becomes a catholic church, the Propylaia are used as a palace and the Erechtheion possibly as the residence of the catholic bishop.
