God of the Underworld, son of Cronus and Rhea and husband of Persephone. He was also called Plouto or Plouton. His followers were the Furies (Erinyes), the Fates (Moirai), the Keres, Nemesis, Ate and Cerberus, and his symbols, the cypress tree and narcissus. 'Hades' is also used to signify the Underwolrd, the final destination for the souls of the dead.
