Bibliography

Figurine base, part of the right side of which is missing. It is rectangular and preserves the figure’s right foot and left heel. Most possibly it depicted Athena Promachos striding with her left leg projecting and the right heel slightly raised.

The inscription ΑΙΣΧΥΛΟΣ ⋮ ΑΝΕΘΕΚΕ [⋮ ΤΑΘΕΝΑΙΑΙ(;)] on the long side of the base is written from right to left and reads “Aeschylos dedicated this to Athena”.
