Relief sheet of metal from the decoration of a tripod stand for a lebes, reassembled from many fragments. It depicts a naked, winged male figure walking to the viewer’s left. The man’s face is shown in profile with the facial features rendered with incisions.
In each hand he holds a living bird from its neck, perhaps a crane. The scene is framed with a floral band. The figure has been identified as Zeus, Apollo, Dionysos, Hyakinthus, Boreas or as a water spirit. However, it seems most likely that it depicts a mythical daemon based on eastern, Assyrian prototypes.
