Solidus of Heraclius recovered from the so-called “Asklepieion's hoard B”. On the obverse side of the coin the facing bust of Heraclius on the left and a smaller facing bust of Heraclius Constantine on the right are portrayed. The emperor has a moustache and short beard while his son is depicted in his childhood. They are both wearing chlamys and flat crown with cross. Another cross is depicted between them. The legend around them reads ddNNhERACLIYSEThERACONSTP[PAV], meaning “Our Lords Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine, Perpetui Augusti”. On the reverse a cross consisting of two intersecting lines both ending in vertical small bars (cross potent) is depicted standing on a tiered base. The legend on this side reads VICTORIA AVGY, meaning “victory of Augustus”, followed by the letter E. The exergue states: CONOB, a reference to Constantinople's mint where the coin was struck.
