Fragment of an opened-shaped vessel, perhaps a lebes or a krater, decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1996, during the Makrygiannis plot excavation, within a pit’s fill, east of METRO I street, in the place where House ΙΑ was erected at a later date.
Only part of the vessel’s body and rim has survived. The external surface showcases a Sphinx wearing a polos on her head, facing to the right. The background is decorated with rosettes and the vase’s rim with zigzags.
