Humans craft their own image

Why did people always feel the need to artistically depict their own self? Starting from the first paintings in the caves up to modern photographs and graffiti, the human figure has always been a much loved theme in art. In the Acropolis Museum children will get in touch with images of humans made out of marble, clay and bronze. They will discover how the era, the needs, society, artists, experiences and perceptions change the way humans perceive and depict themselves.

The program is created and carried out by the Department of Educational Programs of the Acropolis Museum.
