An online educational game about the architecture of the ancient Greek temple. It is addressed mainly to children from 9 years old, as well as educators and the general public. It aims to familiarize the user with the function of the ancient Greek temples, their planning, typology, morphology, construction and sculptural decoration. Six characters-personas present the thematic units of the game. Each one of them has a different role related to the ancient temple.

  On the occasion of its birthday on Monday 20 June 2022, the Acropolis Museum invites visitors to its exhibition areas with reduced tickets (5 euro) during its usual opening times, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 3 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy music by the Woodwind Quintet of the Athens State Orchestra.

In the atrium and south vestibule of the Parthenon Gallery, one finds informational displays concerning the construction of the gold and ivory statue of Athena Parthenos; the operation of the Acropolis’ sanctuary; and Athenian democratic institutions and the political situation in the city at the time the great temple was built.

The first floor’s eastern and southern sections are devoted to the Acropolis during the Archaic period.
